This Fantasy takes Iambic rhythm (short-long) as its starting point. Various contrasted types of music evolve from this rhythmic “cell”, and are transformed and juxtaposed throughout a wide range of moods, often at great speed. A slow, gentle melody interrupts at a climatic moment and spreads resonantly across the complete range of the piano, before the final build toward a jubilant conclusion.
